Dr. Carmela PrattDr. Carmela Pratt was born and raised in Port Orchard, Washington. She graduated from veterinary school in 2006 from Washington State University. She completed a rotating small animal internship at Michigan Veterinary Specialists in 2007 and proceeded on to complete a small animal internal medicine internship at Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles in 2008. Dr. Pratt obtained her small animal internal medicine training and masters degree in veterinary medicine at Washington State University in 2011.  She decided to focus on her interest in research by pursuing a PhD in immunology at the University of Missouri. Dr. Pratt has worked at specialty clinics in Missouri and Kentucky.

Dr. Pratt and her husband, Phillip, have 4 dogs and 6 cats, all obtained from shelters or are retired research animals. In her free time, she likes to hike, do arts and crafts, watch movies (especially Marvel movies), and spend time with her husband and family of pets.

Dr. Pratt has a special interest in feline medicine and immune mediated, gastrointestinal, infectious, and pulmonary diseases.
